Gray Gums Closing

For the Sydney locals I just read that Kim at the Gray Gums has an order to close this Wednesday from the local council and RTA for not complying with installation of a passing lane outside the cafe at her expense even though she has a safety audit saying its not necessary. Its the only stop revive survive stop for miles and a fledgling business being crushed by bureaucratic bullshit.Pisses me off to the max.Pass the work around.

Rob there has been no shop on the Putty from Kurragong to Singleton, that about 140ks since the Halfway House burned down about 3 years ago.The Gray Gums is about 70ks from Kurragong and is a new business. Its in the long flat section out in the spinafex area where I used to trail ride before they found the prehistoric Wolami Pine trees in a remote valley and sealed the bush area forever with a $10,000 fine if cough, but thats another story. They look after the bike crowd with a big concrete pad for parking and excellent food. Its a shame as there very nice people trying to make a buck in a nish market. There was talk of putting in fuel as well.

There is a few of the Sydney blokes heading there for food and to sign the partition on Sunday, ping me if your keen. Its a good cause.
