Speedo worm drive for veglia housing

Are Astralite wheels a standard fitment on a Laverda triple? I'll defer to you experts, but that might point to why the speedo drive is different? Just trying to help. BTW, OP, from what I can see the speedo cable routing is horrid. Might be worth a look?

Astralites aren't standard. Laverda made their own wheels.

I think you may have to look at other Italian marques, Morini used Veglia stuff.

I was referring to the Guzzi worm gear pictured in #27, the teeth much more straight up and down.
However, it does occur: Might it be possible that a DPO has mixed a Veglia/Guzzi sleeve with the Laverda gears (check out the layout of the worm gear shaft on the Guzzi one?) and that has caused the problem?

Sorry yes it’s nothing like the guzzi one , have bought a set of gears now same as mine and as you can see the treaded insert has veglia stamped around the collar
