Do you mean vacuum-operated or maybe now, electric powered Paul? Fuels injected and pump operated have no probs.

whats the reserve depth then? about 2 1/2 "?

Sorry just saw this Andy ,yup about right.Equates to quite a bit of fuel,tanks being good and wide at the bottom.

I've had one cylinder misfire on my twin because I had one petcock on full and the other side on reserve considering I had a fuel line manifold between carbs - Go figure - So I always opened the petcocks to full - What the hell when you run out of gas the engine stops ;o)

The reserve feature was and illusive joke - Sure to kill you.
