Indeedy, it was the place to be if you like seeing Laverdas go fast and win. My mate and I drove up on Sunday and timed it perfectly as they were setting out on the sighting lap for the first race of Sunday (3rd of 4). Anyone who thinks there's no competition out there obviously hasn't checked the lap times and seen the two very fast modern Triumphs hounding Smarty all the way to the line. The racing was CLOSE! After taking the overall in Race 3, Smarty and the Redax bike finally snuck ahead in the champs ... but only just. in the end Smarty basically had to finish ahead of Mark Balestro on the 900 Bonnie. Mark is a rider whose abilities on a racetrack are clear to see and he's got the runs on the board in various classes to prove it. Rick Fitzimmons on the 1200 Thruxton is also a force to be reckoned with, so the pressure was on. Race 4 was incredible and it sealed the nationals for Red and Smarty.

So glad I was there to witness it. And a sombrero sized chapeau to Red, Smarty, the Redax support team and anyone else who had a hand in a great year. Fantastic to catch up with various crew from assorted parts of the country.

My throttle palm was itchy all day - I need some track days once I get my spesh on the road!!  :P :P :P
What ... leave it standard??!!

I think its all been said, but just like to thank the Victorians for putting up with me , sorry putting me up on the Saturday night, great bunch of guys , good food, beer and plenty of laughs, sensational.
Of coarse congratulations to Red and the team for an outstanding season and to Brett for making it to every round, and riding there too, massive effort  (Lavflag)
Oh and for saving my bacon once again with the flat in BFN.
It really was a top weekend, good to catch up everyone and Broadford is such a great track, you really get to see some great racing.

Thank you to all
Tom

Well what can you say that has not already been said?  An awesome weekend that had everything a Laverda inspired gathering has to offer.  The exhilaration of watching the Redax Team bikes circulating at the pointy end and being covered at the not so pointy end by Maurice and Ian had to be seen to be believed!

Excellent camera work by Brett and Rowdy Pat has also captured images that will go down in the annals of Laverda history.  Top Stuff!!
The squished image from Pat shows the magnificent view of the track where you can follow 90% of the race from one vantage point.  And this was where the Vic Lav Banner was flying (well strictly speaking tied to the fence) but facts have never got in the way of a good story with Laverdaisti.  ;)
While I am not in the same league as Pat with the lens work I have managed to capture an interesting image.  I will let others tell the story(s).

I don't think it has been pointed out that Black Betty, ably piloted by Maurice the Legend, finished in front of the Ducati Monster (#28) in every race!
Well done Lisa for keeping the pressure on him. While we haven't seen the best from you yet if you keep listening to the Throttle Whisperer the skys the limit!

Lastly, as TC numero due has shown, we are now a Drinking and Darting Club with a motorcycle problem.  Game on!
Best weekend since Droomsby won at the Sheene!
Luvs yas all,
(more pics to follow)

Well I tried to insert links to more photos in the Gallery but have failed.  The best I can do is provide a link to my gallery where I have uploaded more images of the Broady BEARs event.
Cheers, Rod

Great shots.
Hey Ian, I see you suffer from the ‘Monty toe dangle’ too! Got any leather/soles left on the front of your boots?  ;)
An ‘inzane’ number of Zanes (all of which could run)
7 from Breganze (all of which can run)
Several other project bikes
1 x BMW C600 Sport Highline maxi scooter (for comfort and reliability)
1 x Benelli Tre Tornado 900 (cos it should have been the ‘new’ Jota)
