Stuff from the French Laverda forum
« on: December 06, 2018, 00:15 »
Below is an English translation of an email I received from JLO's French Laverdamania forum.

Hello everyone,
For those who do not visit the forum regularly, here is a reminder of current Laverdamania offers for those who might be interested:

1- Grouped shock absorbers: We have the opportunity to make a group order of shock absorbers from the high-end brand Shock Factory. For the record, Shock Factory was assembled by a former EMC engineer. The technology and the quality of manufacture therefore remain substantially similar but with an unbeatable quality / price ratio. They are custom-built, ultra-light shock absorbers with synchronized hydraulic compression and rebound adjustment (+ spring adjustment), infinitely reconditionable, 2 year warranty without mileage limitation. The quality is frankly better than all the usual dampers on the market.
The manufacturer's website is here:
The public price, very interesting for a product of this quality, is 440 € the pair. Shock Factory grants us a discount of 10% (so 400 € instead of 440) for a group order of 5 pairs minimum and provided that the order takes place during the winter (deadline for order end of January 2019).

2- Following the bulk order of Laverda environmental motorcycle mats (use mandatory or for use in exhibition or in garages) to FIM / FFM standards, we have a few available. The price is 80 € + port for the members Laverdamania and 95 € + port in public price. Photos on request to:

3- Following the group order intake pipes for 1000/1200 and 500cc with Dell'Orto PHF carburetors first type ("females") from 1973 to 1981, we also have in reserve. They are stronger pieces than the originals (which tend to crack or warp with age), machined from quality aluminum on a digital machine. These are parts sold commonly in the 50 € unit + port. We propose them to 24 € TTC + port. We also have special Nylstop 7mm o-rings and nuts when needed.

4- Finally, the reduced price sale for the two books "Laverda 1000 V6" and "Tierra del Fuego - Alaska Laverda 750" for Christmas with contribution to the association Laverdamania is valid until 24/12.

Other ordering projects are the Redax hydraulic clutch housings and a Laverda jacket.

Those interested in any of these offers can contact us at:

For Laverdamania members, remember that we have trade agreements with professionals who grant us discounts. The list of these partners is visible here:

Much appreciate forwarding the link-quantity discounts are a cornerstone of club affiliation! I am interested in a pair of rear shocks-that price calculates to approx $350 USD/pair. Anyone else in N America interested? Perhaps grouping together an order could result in discounted shipping as well.

You, sir, are correct! Had the exchange rate flipped. Still a great deal if a high-quality shock. For comparison RaceTech G3-S units start at $800/pr!
Anyone have an opinion of Shock Factory units? Well reviewed online...

Google Translation:

2WIN shock absorber
A model designed for bi-shock machines, balance forks and also available individually for certain uses such as sidecar baskets

The 2win is a single synchronized damper, with a body of ultra-light aluminum machined in the mass, and anodized for a nice finish and good protection. A single wheel allows you to adjust compression and relaxation in a synchronized way while keeping the right ratio between the two, with 14 'clicks' of reference.
Powerful and lightweight

With their aluminum construction, the 2win shocks are ultra light. All components are CNC machined and the aluminum parts are protected by natural anodizing. Our springs are protected by a technical paint protection epoxy polyester.
Fully adjustable

Our 2win shocks are adjustable in spring preload (supplied key) and in hydraulics. The simple knob gives the choice of a wide range of compression and relaxation adjustment with 14 'clicks' of reference.
Each click changes the compression and trigger settings in a synchronized way, while keeping the optimal ratio between the two.

Take a real control of your suspension:

Too flexible? Just add a click or two to feel the difference and achieve a good custom setting.
Too firm? You can relax as you wish.

100% black finish available on request
Custom made custom manufacturing.
Reinforced springs available without additional cost.
Shock absorbers for sidecars also available with specially adapted springs and hydraulics.

Our 2win shocks are completely refurbable.
Even after a high mileage, your shocks can be reviewed in our workshops.

The combination of all these elements allows us to offer you a two-year warranty on our 2WIN products, without mileage limitations.
At the end of this warranty period, our after sales service is available to revise or repair your shock absorber as soon as possible. See here for more information on our warranty conditions.

How can we supply our shock absorbers at this price?

Our vast experience in design, drawing and manufacturing, has allowed us to reduce our costs, without compromising the quality of our shock absorber.
Our calculations allowed to purify, rethink the technology, refocus the design technique, on the main features of our damper.
You will not find anything superfluous at Shock Factory.

What I miss are any measurements on their website like thickness of the pushrod, rates of feather and nothing
to check length or the diameter of the eyes on top and bottom

I'm confused about the price. The offer is 400 euros for a pair of 2win shocks, but they're listed on the Shock Factory website for 300 pounds sterling, which is currently about 335 euros?
