Laverda SF750 Drum for sale
« on: October 11, 2018, 13:07 »
I imported this bike from Spain via Grant about four years ago and it has a NOVA certificate. Having been stored in a shed for many years it was covered in white paint and so the bike has been totally stripped and media blasted. The frame has been re-stoved in black and the engine totally re-built with new liners and High Compression pistons.

My original idea was to build it into a race bike but things change.

The engine casings have been soda blasted and are clean, it has new gaskets through out and stainless steel bolts used as much as possible.

The paint work has been re-done but has a few marks now from storage, I could re do this prior to the sale. There is a set of ďJotaĒ style adjustable bars fitted, factory rear sets and a new full race 2:1 exhaust.

Front tyre is good, the rear showing signs of age. There are new shoes in the front and rear brake drums. Supplied with the bike is a brand new wiring loom and Motobat battery, both of which need fitting. The clocks have new dials fitted.

Included in the sale are some spares including the original exhaust which needs restoration, leavers, foot pegs, main stand, coils, handlebars, headlamp shell.

I took it to auction in July and it only got bid to £3500 and I have way more invested in it than that so said no. I was later offered £4000 via the auction house but by the time they had their cut it was not going to happen.

Iíve been having some health woes and have just not got the motivation to get on with it and sort it out to get it running. Iíd like someone to come and have a look, make a sensible offer, take it away and enjoy it.

Iím in Northamptonshire.

Just to make it clear: the bike is not finished and needs the restoration completing. There is a new wiring loom with it that needs fitting and the electrics going through. Please come and look if in doubt.

Robin  :) (any1)

Sorry to hear that you arenīt able to finish and enjoy this, Robin.
It sounds like it needs very little to get finished and that the price you are hoping for is very reasonable. I have seen bikes in the price range you have been offered in not much better shape than your "before" pic. Good luck with the sale, hopefully someone on here snaps it up and it gets ut on the road soon.

If you or the next owner wish to sell the original headlamp and it's not cracked at all then I'd be interested. I need to get mine re-chromed but it's cracked by being screwed on too tight. Rechroming is incredibly expensive so I'd rather start with a solid base.

P.S. That's worth £4k of anyone's money I'd say. Good luck

Would you pay 2200GBP for the rusty SF? You could smell it from 30 feet away,

You have a clever typewriter Robin.

We have an old electric typewriter tucked away somewhere, we stored it away because we couldnít get it to connect to the internet....

Dude - you said it....clear as day :)

"I was later offered £4000 via the auction house but by the time they had their cut it was not going to happen."
If that doesn't imply that the auction house cut from the 4K was the reason you didn't sell and therefore a straight £4k would buy it then I don't know what does.

What will you sell it for then?
