RGS Air Filter
« on: November 16, 2020, 17:51 »
Hello,

I've been looking to replace my RGS air filter.  Found via some excellent support from our local motor factor that the following are the correct profile; Bosch S 0354, Mann C3459, Mahle LX3245 Purflex A1779.  All are to long but, with a little work with a sharp blade and a little glue a new filter can be fashioned .

Regards,
Kim.

OCT, Roger told me the originals are sold out but they have others- let me say typ K&N but same shape as original.
They can be cleaned and used again.
You may ask OCT.

Agreed.
I've done that many times. Air filter from a Mk.2 Ford Escort RS2000 was the choice back in the day - more recently Fiat Grande Punto 1.2, part number MD-8184 or EAF587.
For the Ford filter, cut one end off, shorten the remaining filter by the required amount, then stick the end back on, sealing the paper joint with a smear of silicon. I haven't got details to hand for the Fiat filter whether it's a direct fit or needs some adjustment.

I have one new filter and one used - but very serviceable - still on the shelf after my RGA Jota went to a new home. If memory serves, they are both UNI filters.
Do I have unimagined wealth here?  lol

I cut the paper from mine and glued a foam filter in place.
