No hidden agenda Pete!
Can't believe it! Surely by asking people about their 3C's you had some sinister sub-plot going on!

Vince

There are a few 1974 SF2's around that came with 35mm forks and disc brakes.
The consensus it that they were made with the parts that were available at the time.

So it may not be any great suprise to find some 3C's with the same arrangement.

I had a discussion with Piero some 3 or 4 years ago about the non-oil-cooler triples. Out of memory, he said that:

-first 23x bikes where fitted with drum-brakes on the front with 35mm forks
-due to pressure of the Ministry of Transport (?), they had to change to disks on the front to match the speed the bike was able to provide
-next roughly 300 - 400 bikes were built with discs but no oil-cooler

that is as said from memory. could well be it was 500 - 600 bikes built with discs and no oil-cooler. not sure...
