Might be worth browsing through the sprocket drawings in a JT Sprockets catalogue to see if you can find a sprocket with the same spline centre as the 500 Laverda.

I found a Yamaha sprocket that fitted the spline on my Benelli when I converted it from the original duplex chain to a 530.

Cheers,

In the interests of those searching for information in the future, I'll dredge this old thread up to ask a question or two:
If I replace the 630 chain on my RGS with a 530:
- how many links will the 530 chain be?
- is either sprocket a "standard" fitment or are they model specific?

And as an aside, does anyone have strong opinions on whether I should use a riveted or clip link?

The chain requires 108 links with 19/40 sprockets.  Sprockets front and rear are standard 180 bits, take your pick, providing you're running stock Laverda wheels.

AfaIk, at least DID no longer supplies chains larger than #520 with clip links.  As chain clearance between crankcase and frame can be an issue once some slop develops, a clip cannot be recommended anyway.
