Speedometer backplate wanted.
« on: November 14, 2010, 17:58 »
Does any one have a spare backplate to suit a ND speedometer (1200) that they are willing to part with?

I wanted to replace the Honda unit on my bike with a original Laverda one, Keith was able to supply the speedo but I am still missing the chrome backplate (the Honda one does not fit).

G'day Roger

I have a couple of junk speedos but I'm not sure whether they have backing plates with them. I'll have a look when I get home tonight.

I'm pretty sure I have a few buried in my boxes. Where are you?

G'day Roger

Yep, got two of 'em in good condition. One chrome and one black. You're welcome to either one (no cost). Which do you prefer?
Send me your address and I'll pop one in the mail. Might take a week or 10 days from Tasmania to UK.

You can email me direct at:  cdouglas( at )netspace.net.au

Thank you both for your prompt replies, this just shows how valuable a community such as this is to enthusiasts of older machines.

When working on mine, I found the 2 screws were all mashed. I found some PCB insulated spacers that have nice little screws and spring washers of the right size. They were just in my box of 'leccy bits, but I'm 99% sure they were from Maplin.
