There were about 15ks of dirt on the first side of the river, narrow and steep and they said 20 minutes of dirt the other side of the ferry, it was a long 20 minutes more like 30ks.The issue was the pea gravel on the road between the car ruts. Its narrow so you need to hug the left rut but that was where the deepest gavel was, doable but not so much fun. I cannot remember the other bit as the Dam Rd was so good it faded the other bits from my memory.
Good food at the lodge where the ferry was, I seem to remember a $12 charge to use it. Never paid for a ferry before.

From Queenstown b28 to tullah turn left to Reece dam rd c252 turn right c249 to corinna last bit dirt to the ferry. Lunch at the pub very good. Dirt for 20 km then race track to Waratah and fuel.

OK, I had your route going the other way around the Reece Dam/Savage River circuit. Bugger-all difference though.

You guys picked the right week to be in Tassie. Weather turned to shit after you left. Been pissing rain on and off for about a week now.

Blessed by the Laverda gods😀  I spoke to a guy during the week did 9 days in tassie last January, said it only rained for 8 days and snowed on the 9 th!  Definitely felt like we where blessed.
