As long as the gearbox casing is in aluminium it will work. Tons of testimonials to it on the web.

Used  to use conc nitric acid for steel studs in Al.

Now use a Joemars TR100 EDM since it is harder to get said acid these days for some reason. The EDM only uses tap water. Also good for drilling holes in carbide lathe tool tips.

Tap burner in action.

Note to self:

Don't use ball end socket allen keys to remove the ceriani fork screws.

The key tip shears off leaving the hardened steel ball end in screw socket.

A carbide drill would wander destroying the hex socket and the whole screw would need drilling out.

Instead, just EDM with a slightly larger hex brass bar to recreate a hex socket and simply unscrew with a larger key.

The burner uses tap water and the black fluid is the fine steel particles being washed out using a garden hose.

This is why my rebuilds take forever. Every simple task turns into a nose bleed.
